KPMG (the Malaysian member firm)

KPMG first established a presence in Malaysia in 1928 and the Malaysian firm has grown to be a part of the global success of KPMG's network of firms. KPMG’s operations in Malaysia are carried out in association with KPMG Desa Megat & Co. The Malaysian firm now has 67 partners and over 1700 staff located across 10 offices.

Internship program

KPMG welcomes Malaysian undergraduates from local and foreign institutions to its internship program. It is a great way to earn extra pocket money, gain practical experience and obtain an inside view of potential career options with one of the world’s leading professional services firms. Most importantly, you will have an early exposure working and learning with KPMG’s outstanding professionals along the way.

Undergraduates in their sophomore year are most welcomed to apply for internship. As vacation periods differ from country to country, it will depend on the firm's needs for interns. The peak period is from November to May, so those applying for internship during this time might stand a better chance of securing an internship.

It is required of you to have completed your first two years of a degree course from accounting, commerce, business, economics, finance or information systems. Openings are available in all offices throughout Malaysia.

Does KPMG support the CPA Program?

Yes, KPMG will give you the career support you need, from study leave and examination fees to professional tutors and the course books you will be studying. The CPA Program and membership of CPA Australia is well supported by KPMG.

Generally you are required to be a local or overseas graduate who has completed either an accounting, finance and / or other disciplines to be eligible to sign a training bond with KPMG. Each of the training contracts has its own specific pre-requisites that need to be met upon recruitment. The level of exemptions granted for the training contract is also dependent on the university program completed and will be evaluated on a case by case basis upon enrolment with CPA Australia.

KPMG aim for all graduates to pass their CPA Program examinations the first time for KPMG engages among the best possible tutors, some of whom are from overseas to help you. At the same time a mentor is allocated to guide you towards examination success the minute you sign up with the firm. He / she will help to keep you prepared for the examinations and arrange any additional support needed.
