Associate

Associate (ASA) membership of CPA Australia is the first step to becoming a CPA.

CPA Program comprises of 14 education segments and a fully integrated practical experience requirement. The educational component of CPA Program has two parts: the foundation level and the professional level. The completion of an accredited or recognised degree, such as an accounting degree, will often meet all the requirements of the foundation level and allow you to commence at the professional level and enrol as an ASA.

To determine your actual entry point into CPA Program, including any possible exemptions, you will need to complete an online application for membership entry pathway assessment.

To attain CPA status, you must complete the professional level within six years. In order to advance to CPA status Associate members must hold a degree or postgraduate award recognised by CPA Australia.
