CPA Australia has an office in Kuala Lumpur, which includes a member lounge, CPA Library and staff who are available to assist members with face-to-face, telephone or email queries. CPA Library is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.

To be an accountant in Malaysia, the Accountants Act 1967 legislates that accountants must be members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). CPA Australia is a scheduled body of the MIA, meaning that CPA Australia members can gain direct entry into the MIA without any further examinations or work experience once they have successfully completed CPA Program, including the professional experience requirement component.

CPA Australia members in Malaysia must use the designation 'CPA (Aust.)' to differentiate themselves from CPAs who are members of other accountancy bodies.

The Malaysia divisional council aims to further the interests of members of CPA Australia in the region, subject to the jurisdiction of the board, and the administrative control of the chief executive officer and his or the Board nominees and assigns.
