New CPA Australia website

Date issued: 22 February 2010

The new CPA Australia website launched on Monday 22 February following extensive consultation and testing with staff and members around the globe.

The idea to launch a new CPA Australia website started in response to member feedback and the direction laid out in the organisation's Corporate plan. Armed with aspirations to address our premier global brand, we engaged Stamford Interactive to design the new information architecture based on a user-centred design.

'The new CPA Australia website ensures the needs of all users are met, while meeting and aligning with CPA Australia's long terms objectives of remaining a leading international professional accountancy designation,' says Amir Ansari, senior usability consultant, Stamford Interactive.

Over a three month period, Stamford Interactive and CPA Australia staff consulted with almost 150 users from Australia and South East Asia, capturing their needs, requirements and feedback.

A significant review of existing content was conducted. All pages had to be evaluated for currency, consistency and accuracy and was then mapped to the information architecture of the new website.

'We involved members in our user testing to validate content mapping,' explains Jessica McInerny, content advisor, CPA Australia, 'and finally consultation with all business units to check that we mapped the content as accurately as possible.'

Following this work, CPA Australia engaged web development agency Citrus to design the website and implement the content management system (CMS). The site is built on the OpenText Web Solutions CMS. OpenText were also engaged to provide advice on best practice for the project.

And now, we are happy to launch our new CPA Australia website. The website is dynamic, engaging and has feature packed interactions and information, helping both prospective members and those wishing to retain their designation. Knowledge sharing, customisation and personalisation are at the core of the website's interaction and service delivery, providing the ultimate user experience.
