Handovers and advancements in status were among the achievements recognised at the annual CPA Australia celebration lunch held on Saturday 5 February.
David Graydon CPA, the outgoing Europe Divisional Council president, provided a recap of CPA Australia’s work in Europe region throughout 2010 and formally handed over the reigns to Anna D'Alessandro FCPA.
Mr Graydon also presented a gift to Andrew Genrich CPA who retired from the Europe Divisional Council after six years in office, one as president in 2009.
Anna D'Alessandro FCPA, president, Europe Divisional Council, took on her first role by presenting divisional president awards to Hellen Renfree CPA and Mina Lekkas CPA. Ms Renfree and Ms Lekkas provided prompt medical assistance to a fellow colleague from CPA Ireland. Peter Benson from CPA Ireland showed his appreciation by presenting the ladies with a bouquet of flowers.
The event also saw eight CPA Australia members acknowledged for their advancement to Fellow CPA status, including: Anna D'Alessandro; Glen Davies; William Duperouzel; Kristy Eden-Green; William Hinrichsen; Frank Jordan; Vivian Poloni; and Joe Serrurier.
It was particularly fitting that William Duperouzel FCPA received his award who, along with Geoff Lacey FCPA,Colin Clark FCPA, Tom Tussup FCPA, Geoffrey Lacey FCPA and Peter Barrett FCPA started the CPA Australia Europe division almost 33 years ago.
