Customised learning packages: SkillsNet suite

Well developed proficiency in essential business skills can have a significant impact on your performance. Being able to learn these skills anytime, anywhere will get you up to speed fast with the knowledge you need to get your job done more efficiently, and with the support of your colleagues. This is why CPA Australia offers SkillsNet to its members - to ensure you have the edge over your competition.

SkillsNet suite

SkillsNet offers a suite of customised online learning packages of five or ten courses covering core business skills in a range of soft-skill topic areas. With courses already suggested for you within these packages, you can save yourself decision-making time.

These packages provide you with complete learning pathways in your chosen area of core business skills from one of the following areas:

  • communication
  • information technology
  • leadership and management
  • personal development
  • professional development
  • project management

Quick packs

Within the SkillsNet suite, there is a new range of modern and condensed 'Quick pack' online learning packages. These packages provide a highly convenient solution to maintaining skill development when you only have short bursts of time available.

These 'Quick packs' offer five courses, each of one-hour duration, using a new format, and focus on essential areas of development which are most needed to build your knowledge.

The modern feel of these programs, with new visual interactive components, will enable you to condense your learning into a smaller time period than would usually be required. What's more, upon completion of a 'Quick pack' you can claim up to 10 CPD hours. 'Quick packs' are available in most of the SkillsNet suites.

SkillsNet

There are 200 SkillsNet courses that can be selected either individually, in sets of five, 10 or 20 courses, or popular customised packages (SkillsNet suites).

Members have 12 months from the date of purchase to access and complete the course.

Trial complimentary courses

Members can access two complimentary SkillsNet courses to familiarise themselves with the learning style before purchasing courses.

'Principles of financial management' introduces non-financial managers to the principles of financial management. It explores the basic concepts of risk and return, and the time value of money. It will demonstrate the benefits of using financial management to support organisational success.

'Writing a business case' will show users the principles for preparing an effective business case, and it will guide them through the writing process from defining business needs and gathering relevant information through to assessing the financial impact of a solution.

Each course will take approximately two-and-a-half hours to complete.
